The Youth team was re-formed in 2005 and in thier first season finished in a very respectable 4th place. An added bonus was that they won the coverted Knock Out Trophy beating Wellingborough Town 4-2 in the final.
In 2005-2006 season the Youth team entered the FA Youth Cup reaching the 3rd round of the preliminary stages before bowing out 1-0 to Buntingford Town. On the way they vanquished Ilford FC and Hullbridge Sports FC.
Subsequent seasons have seen two runners up positions in the league and two further League Cup Finals the latest of which was in 2009/10 when we defeated local rivals Rothwell Town in the Final.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
